Relationship Manager I - Corporate Banking
This position is for an associate business development banker focused on developing and servicing relationships with large, global, sophisticated commercial clients in Capital One's US Corporate Banking Business. This role supports the senior relationship managers in creating value-add pitchbooks, supporting credit approvals, analyzing financials, completing pre-screen deal memos, managing prospecting databases, updating/ensuring the accuracy of Salesforce, deepening relationships and servicing customer relationships as a secondary relationship manager. Banker will also assist in data research, analysis, reporting and various special projects. Attention to detail and proficiency in Excel, Powerpoint and Google Docs/Sheets/Slides are critical to success in the role. Collaboration, communication, professionalism expected at all times.
Responsibilities
● Assist senior Relationship Managers (RMs) in the preparation of client presentations and correspondence, as well as manage pipeline activity for managers
● Create client pitchbooks and craft various financing views (structure and pricing) from scratch with limited senior banker involvement
● Complete pre-screen deal memos including analysis of industry and company financial condition, application of pricing models, and evaluations of the viability and profitability of the opportunity
● Ownership of pre-screens for credit approval and direct involvement throughout credit approval process including working directly with the client to answer questions from credit and receive all necessary documentation for closing
● Actively manage/ensure accuracy of Salesforce, including, but not limited to, detailing opportunities, entering summary notes from client meetings (including follow-up / action items), and routinely analyzing Tier 1, 2, and 3 clients and prospects
● Partner with internal stakeholders including Underwriting, Risk, Capital Markets, Commercial Client Service and Support, and Treasury Management to provide an exemplary customer experience and position to win new business
● Data Driven Prospecting:
--Utilizing key company and capital structure metrics from multiple sources to create fully comprehensive and up to date prospect universe
--Identifying most actionable prospects and applicable calling strategies
--Mine Salesforce.com and outside databases to keep data current, and to identify and prioritize corporate prospects and their key decision-makers
--Work alongside senior RMs to reach out to key decision makers to drive client and prospect meetings
● Participate in business development networking activities
● Stay current on credit risk and policy changes
● Support Senior RMs with special projects
● Travel as needed for client meetings, internal networking, team building
● Become proficient in capital markets and TM concepts and products
● Adhere to Capital One Lives the Values and other required competencies as described on the Competency Matrix

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or military experience
