The Opportunity and the Role:

As a Project Manager on the External Affairs Strategy & Engagement (EASE) Team, you can achieve results you never thought possible by leading critical and strategic business projects. In this exciting role, you will work closely with key stakeholders to deliver results that will have a direct impact on how Capital One delivers on its initiatives across EA. You will work with smart, talented people who will challenge you to excel and who will partner with you in breaking exciting new ground in the world of corporate social impact.

As a Project Manager on the EASE Team you will:
  • Work on medium to large-scale complex, cross-departmental projects that have a direct impact on the company's community impact including project through feasibility, design, planning and implementation.
  • Develop and execute detailed project plans, project schedules, decisions, risk and issue logs, and status reports including meeting scheduling and calendar management
  • Lead regular meetings with the project team. Document progress and report to stakeholders on project status.
  • Leverage problem solving skills to ensure project plans deliver on intent and maintain key project documentation
  • Monitor and manage critical path, decisions, risks, plan contingencies, facilitate scope changes, and build mitigation plans to achieve desired outcomes
  • Execute on materials for EA PMO routines
  • To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the ability to:
  • Quickly put structure in place to manage the work
  • Express a project team's mission and purpose in concise and purposeful objectives and key results.
  • Lead and drive projects through discovery and delivery involving project Planning, documenting objectives, success measures, scope and customer expectations
  • Use outstanding communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders across all levels to manage, inform, and influence outcomes, to manage expectations, drive for results and provide transparency around the workstream deliverables
  • Exercise keen judgment in understanding when and how to escalate issues and lack of progress
  • Demonstrate organizational agility to adapt to changing demands and ambiguity
  • Display strong consulting and collaboration skills

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Military experience
  • At least 3 Years of Project Management experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters or MBA degree
  • At least 5 years of Project Management experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in the financial services industry
  • At least 2 years of experience in the consumer credit card industry
  • At least 1 year of People Management experience
