Senior Manager, Flex Pay Merchant Marketing

At destination, we expect all customers to be able to do transaction- specific borrowing in a way that they prefer, with maximum convenience. Building and maintaining our relationships with our merchant community will be critical for this success.

The Role

The Flex Pay Marketing team is a passionate, scrappy, intellectually curious team of brand strategist and marketers focused on driving awareness, adoption, and repeat use of Flex Pay by thoroughly understanding our consumer, merchant, and competitive landscape.

We are looking for a dynamic leader to join our Flex Pay marketing team to lead our Merchant Marketing strategy. As Flex Pay continues to grow, so will our availability with merchants. This role will play a critical part in growing that footprint. This Sr. Manager will work closely with our Merchant Experience partners to develop and optimize Flex Pay's pitch to potential merchants. This would include ecommerce platforms, full integration, and a range across enterprise and small business. This includes supporting the brand's refinement of its positioning, messaging, and merchant value proposition. This opportunity will have exposure to all aspects of the Flex Pay business as your focus will be to take all aspects of the Flex Pay business and craft it into a compelling story for potential merchants as a comprehensive value proposition.

What you'll do:
  • Lead the content and growth strategy for the merchant marketing strategic plans
  • Help architect compelling storytelling via essential pitch materials and data for potential merchant partners
  • Represent marketing team in conversations and routine meetings with the merchant experience team
  • Continue to expand content partnership strategy -- maintaining existing relationships and sourcing new partners
  • Define KPIs, build targets and drive prioritization across merchant partners within Flex Pay
  • Partner with key teams to ensure Flex Pay is offering the optimal and most competitive value prop for potential merchants
  • Partner with Flex Pay customer marketing team to maintain consistency across brand messaging, value prop, and go to market plans
  • Partner with enterprise and channel teams to ensure integrated paid and organic strategy across broader agenda
  • Partner with the customer experience, merchant experience, and design team to refine and optimize ideal site content experience for potential merchants
  • Lead any insight driven research efforts to learn more about the merchant or competitive landscape and leverage data into an actionable strategy
  • Work directly with agency partners to develop relevant content and/or campaign strategy
  • Attend relevant conferences to learn more industry best practices as well as support Merchant Experience team with acquiring new partnerships

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or military experience
  • At least 5 years experience in brand strategy or product marketing experience on the agency or client side, with experience managing multiple channels
  • At least 2 years of relationship management experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in planning, executing and analyzing marketing programs
  • At least 5 years experience in managing creative processes, partnering with creative teams and developing marketing materials

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of B2B marketing experience
  • 4+ years of experience in the Financial Services industry
  • 4+ years of both agency-side and client-side experience
  • 4+ years of direct experience building and rolling out a brand strategy
  • 2+ years of BNPL industry experience
  • MBA Degree
