Program and Support Specialist - Department of Electrical and Computer EngineeringThe George Mason University Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, within the College of Engineering and Computing (CEC), is accepting applications for a Program and Support Specialist. George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.Responsibilities:Process faculty and staff purchase requests for equipment and supplies for labs, projects, offices, events and research activities through the GMU eVA vendor system or other approved sources;Reconcile all purchase card "p-card" purchases and attach supporting documentation, which could include but may not be limited to monthly statements, receipts, email approvals, etc.;Create and maintain appropriate filing and record systems for purchasing as well as reconciliation;Reconcile departmental, Foundation and other accounts on a monthly basis;Provide reconciliation documents for direct expenditures on sponsored research projects;Create and manage inventory spreadsheets for departmental lab equipment and supplies;Coordinate departmental telecommunications services which include putting orders for phones, imputing trouble tickets and serving as department liaison to Telecommunication Administration;Manage departmental copy machine usage by faculty, teaching assistants and students and reconcile copy and print expenses;Process requests for swipe card access to departmental labs, conference rooms, offices and other facilities for faculty and students;Provide administrative support to faculty and students for both academic and research activities; andWork closely with department leadership, management and staff in completing tasks.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and experience;Proficiency with using email, internet, and Microsoft Office;Prior experience prioritizing and managing multiple tasks; andDemonstrated advanced written and oral communication skills.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree;Prior experience managing sensitive and confidential materials related to faculty, staff, and students;Professional demeanor and presentation;Knowledge of eVA, Banner, Micros Strategy, Travel, Food & Beverage Systems;Work effectively with diverse population;Demonstrated administrative experience; andFamiliarity with higher education environment.A Force for Innovation in the Heart of Northern Virginia's Technology CorridorThe College of Engineering and Computing at George Mason University is comprised of the Volgenau School of Engineering and a new School of Computing.
