Primary Purpose
The Manager, Monitoring Services is responsible for the line managmeent of Monitoring Services staff (Clinical Research Associates [CRAs] and In-House CRAs), inclusing professional development, performance management, mentoring, coahcing, and resourcing CRAs effectively to projects. Up to 25% travel is estimated for this role. There may be travel between corporate locations and travel as needed to perform CRA Assessment Visits.

Primary Purpose

Responsibilities
- Provides leadership for CRAs through mentorship and coaching
- Conducts and tracks CRA training and evaluates performance on the on-site assessment
- Performs on-site or remote perdormance assessments of the CRAs
- Facilitates CRA transfer onto project work from orientation
- Manages and approves timesheets, expense reports, and leave requests
- Conducts performance appraisals at designated intervals; provides feedback of successes and opportunities for growth and development
- Addresses employee relations issues and resolves problems
- Works with resourcing managers to review contract/proposal and state of work (SOW) to ensure proper staffing on project
- Ensures study timelines and deliverables are met by CRAs, including monitoring visit frequency, monitoring visits deliverables (memoranda and reports) submission/approval timelines, and submission of expense reports per the project SOW, Emmes SOPS, and the site monitoring plan (SMP) as applicable
- Liaises with clinical operations members and project leadership in support of client/sponsor as needed
- Paeticipates in department ad Corporate initiatives
- Identifies new professional development or therapeutic training opportunities
Experience
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in a scientific discipline or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years progressive Clinical Research Experience, including experience as a CRA
- Personnel management highly desired
- Ability to travel up to 25%
- Strong technical/analytical skills to identify and solve problems. Adaptable to a dynamic environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills for effectively interfacing with all levels of management and departments within the company
- Strong organizational skills in order to maintain a high level of productivity, innovation, and priority-setting in order to complete assignments on-time and on-budget
- Expertise in regulatory obligations for a Clinical Research Associate and relevant ICH guidelines
- Self-motivated and high attention detail required
- Ability to collaborate with internal and external colleagues and work well in team-oriented setting
- Ability to work remotely with a high degree of independence
- Skilled in data management/computer proficient in Microsoft Office
