Overview: The position is responsible for the design, development, configuration, administration and support of Discovery Communication's MicroStrategy Business Intelligence platform. The individual will be required to participate in all SDLC phases and responsible for complex data modeling and advanced MicroStrategy project metadata development. The individual will frequently interact and assist with the ad-hoc reporting and access requests from business users. The individual should possess skills around relationships of data, hierarchies and hybrid data models. Continuing production support, platform maintenance and system enhancements are part of the position responsibilities. The Individual is expected to have a thorough understanding of the Business and data contained within every BI project while working on it. Also should be able to work independently in implementing reporting solution. Responsibilities: Experience in understanding data related to the Microstrategy project and be able to independently work with end users.Experience in writing SQL and good working knowledge on Oracle, Snowflake and Redshift databases preferredBuild MicroStrategy dashboards, RSD's and Reports both for Mobile and Web that satisfy and meet business requirements/needs.Collaborate with business engagement teams to define dashboards and reporting solutions to meet diverse, complex business needs. Experience working with Schema, Transformations, Complex reports, Report Services Documents (Dashboards), Rolling Metrics, Nested Metrics, Level Metrics, Relationship Filters, Pass thru functions, Hierarchies, VLDB Properties (multi-pass sql, hints, Pre-post SQL etc.), built-in and user defined functions like If, case, running sum etc.Training Users on the BI functionality and helping them in creating any objects within Microstrategy Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business, management information systems, computer science, or an equivalent combination of skills, training, and experience.1-4 years of MicroStrategy Development -- Architecture, Reporting Objects, Web customization and Distribution Services.Extremely good at comprehending, analyzing data and it's relationships.Data Visualization experience using Microstrategy Dossier preferred Knowledge of Data Warehousing principles, ETL processes and dimensional modeling concepts.Strong understanding of Oracle/Redshift/Snowflake database and the ability to perform data analysis, troubleshoot data issues in comparison to report output.Excellent technical, logical, analytical and problem-solving skills to provide insight on development and application support.Must have the legal right to work in the United States.
