Description Robert Half is looking to hire a Payroll Specialist. To be a good fit for this Payroll Specialist role you should have experience with ADP, Microsoft Office applications, and automated payroll processing services. Payroll Specialists usually need at least two years of payroll experience. Payroll Specialists also should possess excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. Based in Hanover, Maryland, this Payroll Specialist position is a long-term contract / temporary to hire opportunity.Daily tasks include:- Processing payroll - Reconciling payroll sub-ledger to the general ledger - Remitting payroll taxes and government reporting - Preparing monthly, quarterly and year-end payroll statements- Offer proper review and verification of source documents- Follow established policies and procedures to maintain payroll operations and report changes as necessary- Enter changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers as part of managing payroll record- Provide assistance as necessary for all internal and external audits related to payroll- Manage payroll information requests and questions- Managing payroll information by keeping proper records for collecting, calculating, and entering data- Establish payroll liabilities after calculating all employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments- Compile summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages as part of report preparation- Facilitate company compliance according to federal and state regulations and guidelines- Manage employee deductions and other liabilities- Collect and analyze information including resolving payroll discrepanciesIf interested in this Payroll Specialist position, apply online or call Robert Half at 410-423-9454.
