Description My client is a $100M distribution and manufacturing organization that is looking to bring on an Accounting Manager that will function as the heir apparent to the Assistant Controller role. This position will have oversight of two employees and will be tasked with helping to grow the organization. The organization reports into a larger publicly traded firm. In collaboration with the Assistant Controller, prepare monthly closing journal entries. This includes obtaining data from source systems, reconciliations and following up on reconciling items with internal and external parties.. Summarize and prepare financial status and transactions reports, including a profit and loss statement, and components of reporting package typically in 3-4 business days.. Manage back end income "Marketing Fee" process reconciliation utilizing vendor spend, specific program and reconciling to cash, credits and deductions received/taken.. Prepare / review customer GL upload file billing including reconciliation to source systems.. Maintain and implement accounting controls to be SOX compliant.. Assist with the financial budgeting, forecasting and monitoring.. Support parent company with analyzing weekly cash forecasting.. Facilitate and prepare PBCs during financial audits to fulfill requests timely and act as a liaison with external auditors.. Prepare and review balance sheet account reconciliations and ensure that reconciling items are resolved timely.. Prepare monthly customer dashboards and weekly finance dashboards in preparation for leadership meeting.. Prepare and manage commissions schedule and carve out financials for key business unit.. Prepare financial analyses and reports.. Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.. Act as a key member of the finance leadership team, supporting the Controller and Assistant Controller with day to day accounting operations.+ Manage Accounts Receivable / Collections and Credit staff to include hiring, performance management and development.+ Accountability for associated key performance indicators.+ Manage rebate receivables against collections, primarily for cost deviation reimbursements. Requirements Accounting Manager requirements:+ Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, or Related Field; dual major in Finance a plus.+ At least 3 years of experience managing an accounting team.+ At least 6 years of experience stemming from corporate accounting, Big Four / National Accounting audit or Accounting Advisory practice.+ Experience with or providing services to $60 million+ organization.+ In depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)+ Computer proficiency to include Microsoft Word and advanced / expert Excel skills.+ Experience with sales and use tax and associated nexus a plus.+ Experience with payroll a plus.+ Experience supporting a distribution firm a plus.+ Experience in a SOX environment a plus.All interested applicants, please respond via LinkedIn to me Ty Smith.
