Senior Manager, Risk Management (Remote Eligible)

As the Sr. Manager in Risk Management for Technology - Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Governance at Capital One, you will be responsible for ensuring that all technologies and processes that support SOX-critical business processes are in compliance with both internal and external regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Governance: Manage a Technology SOX Governance Operations team to ensure that all assigned Tech SOX controls are operating effectively and as intended. Own the operational oversight processes that ensure adherence to Tech SOX service level agreements, corporate policies, enterprise standards, and external regulations. Provide the subject matter expertise consult to bolster the technology risk and control landscape for the assigned technology areas.
  • Control Administration: Support the risk assessments and technology walkthroughs to assess and identify any Tech SOX risk gaps, and determine any control additions, modifications, deletions required. Partner with the SOX Advisory Team (SAT) to provide consult to the LOBs on control design and language, perform effective challenge on control design, and prepare for both internal and external testing.
  • Testing Support: Ensure the Operations team sets the LOBs up for success by supporting timely and proper testing of all Tech SOX controls, per the outlined annual ESR Master schedule.
  • Issues Management: Responsible for providing consultation and effective challenge, and ultimately accountable for obtaining the official disposition / Management's decision, in the event there is a potential issue noted with any control. Any confirmed issues are then root-caused and have SOX impacts analyzed to determine the appropriate remediation plan. As Issue Manager, oversee plan fulfillment and successful retest and issue closure.
  • Manage direct reports.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or military experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in Risk Management
  • At least 5 years of experience in technical program management
  • At least 3 years of experience in people management


Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience developing and implementing industry risk frameworks, quantitative analysis, tools, and methodologies (COSO, quantitative analysis, Process, Risk and Control)
  • 1+ year of experience working with Sarbanes Oxley regulations
  • CISA, CRISK, CISM, or CISSP certifications
