The Opportunity and Role:

The Senior Manager of Research & Analytics leads a team of analysts and researchers who provide data and intelligence to direct communications strategy and to measure the impact of the work. This person will have a passion for leveraging a mix of media and market research methodologies to tell a compelling data-centered story.

As part of the Insights & Impact team, the role will partner with colleagues across Corporate Communications to integrate best practices in communications measurement and reporting, as well as support strategic planning. In this role, you will integrate knowledge of marketing, public affairs, branding, communications and general business strategy.

We are seeking someone with a firm understanding of media and content analysis across paid, earned and owned channels. In this role, the associate will leverage analytical and interpretation tools, platforms, and skills to spot patterns and surface actionable insights from communications data and research. The role will guide communicators and communications analysts in the development of program benchmarks and KPIs, as well as lead media, content and audience research to inform business plans.

Tools and platforms related to this role include but are not limited to Zignal, Brandwatch, Quid, Google Analytics, Tableau, eMarketer, MRI, Mintel, and Google Trends.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with teams to translate business priorities into measurable communications goals and objectives; coordinate with analysts to align dashboards and reporting
  • Spot and recommend opportunities to bring deeper intelligence to the team around key audiences, issues and the competitive landscape
  • Field research and interpret data and insights, working closely with analysts to create a compelling story for internal stakeholders in digestible formats
  • Coordinate with communications teams and agency partners to produce ongoing and campaign-based reports for leadership; distill data into simple KPIs and data visualizations, dashboards or scorecards
  • Work with senior leadership to evolve how Corporate Communications demonstrates its value to the business through data and intelligence
  • Aide in the development of strategic plans, messaging, media materials and digital/social content based on insights and analysis
  • Maintain expert knowledge of industry trends related to media research methodologies and metrics


Basic Qualifications
  • At least 5 years of experience in communications; digital marketing; planning; or analytics and market research, or any combination of the four
  • At least one year using media monitoring and social listening tools



Preferred Qualifications
  • At least one year of experience in various types of research engagements, such as corporate reputation, audience, thought leadership, measurement, or and campaign/strategy optimization and brand positioning
  • At least one year of experience using secondary research tools
  • At least one year of experience using Boolean search and query building
  • At least one year of experience using data analysis and visualization tools
  • At least one year experience with market research and trend analysis tools
  • At least one year of people leadership experience
