Duties

  • You will coordinate the efforts of other technical area experts who are available to assist with the technical aspects of the project and help address technical issues.
  • You will elevate technical issues that cannot be resolved at the project level to the project lead engineer, PMO lead engineer and/or Competency lead engineer.
  • You will participate in the development of requirements with customers, to analyze requirements and design criteria, develops cost estimates, assures validation of requirements, and evaluate schedules and project feasibility.
  • You will support Integrated Project Teams which require collaboration with engineering, logistics and program management professionals to define project objectives, priorities and deadlines for multi-phase projects.
  • You will perform additional data systems and analysis work.
  • You will prepare working documentation to support program acquisition efforts.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Top Secret/SCI security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). You must be certified as a Career Field Engineering and Technical Management Level II (Practitioner). Certification is required within 60 months of appointment.


Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or NH-2 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: conducting or participating in systems engineering with a direct role in test planning and test engineering; requirements analysis; requirements verification; functional analysis; functional verification; synthesis; design verification; systems analysis; and systems control and the development and delivery of associated system engineering artifacts.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
Evaluation of Education :
Applicants should have sufficient knowledge to understand the fundamental concepts and techniques of computer science. Courses designed to provide an introduction to computer science techniques and methodologies, to problems of system design, and to other specialized fields are acceptable. Courses or experience in teaching elementary, business, or shop mathematics are not acceptable.
