Primary Purpose

EMMES is seeking a Membership, Education, & Recruitment Administrator to support the National Cancer Institute's Central IRB (CIRB) which currently supports four IRBs. The Membership, Education, & Recruitment Administrator supports every other year Education Days, CIRB member assessment, CIRB member education, and CIRB member recruitment.

  • Assist with the planning of Education Days, including logistics, agenda development, assistance with identifying and contacting speakers, and coordinating with NIH for the 3-day meeting.
  • Manage the process for receiving and reviewing applications for new CIRB members with NCI.
  • Track board member conflict of interest activities.
  • Assist with the planning of the annual new member orientation.
  • Generate and distribute the board member annual assessments.
  • Provide support for various projects and tasks as they arise across the project.
  • Work closely with all members of the CIRB team and NCI contacts.
  • Identify and raise questions regarding process concerns with the CIRB leadership.
  • Assist with additional tasks as needed

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in health-related field; oncology clinical trial environment preferred
  • At least one year of experience performing IRB support activities
  • Independent decision making and the ability to make good judgements are critical
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Knowledge of the federal laws and regulations governing the conduct of research with human subjects is essential (21 and 45 CFR)
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to learn and use complex computer systems/databases
  • Ability to learn and apply IRB regulations and CIRB SOPs within the CIRB operations office
  • Attention to detail and accuracy when responding to stakeholders
