The Lourie Center seeks to hire a Social Worker who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

As a Social Worker you will:
•Provide diagnostic evaluations of children with suspected social-emotional problems or developmental delays.
•Assess family functioning, identifying the quality of parent-child relationships and the family's dynamics.
•Identify needed services, prepare written evaluations, obtain relevant information from school settings, make home and school visits as appropriate, interpret evaluation results for parents and other professionals working with a client, and develop home programs, treatment plans, and educational plans based on state regulations and forms.
•Provide psychotherapeutic treatment to children and their families including individual play therapy, parent collateral work, family therapy, couples therapy, and group therapy.
•Monitor progress of children/families in treatment and formally review treatment plan and goals every six months.
•Consult with other professionals working with the client both at Lourie Center and outside of the agency to assure coordinated and comprehensive service delivery.
•Consult to professionals in the community including pediatricians, school administrators, and child welfare/DHHS case workers regarding the appropriateness of referrals and the progress in therapy and ongoing therapeutic needs of individual clients at our Center. - A Growing Organization Vital to the Community
•Provide recommendations for treatment and school placement and in support of this responsibility, participate in school meetings (e.g., SARDS, ARDS, and CARDS) at Lourie Center.
•Participate in scheduled interdisciplinary meetings to formulate a comprehensive diagnosis and a coordinated treatment plan for Lourie Center clients, as well as to review the progress made in treatment and to develop new treatment strategies for children at Lourie Center.
•Participate in case conferences, disposition meetings, staff meetings, and parent feedback, as needed.
•Perform basic administrative tasks related to work assignments including the timely preparation of written reports, billing forms, work schedules, and progress notes to document treatment sessions.
•Maintain charts in a complete, timely and legible form, including parent information forms, consent forms, data collection forms, progress notes, and treatment plans and goals as required by state DHMH.
•Interpret Lourie Center's function and philosophy through contacts with the community in addition to actively recruiting referrals for Lourie Center.
•Continue professional education in social work by attending formal continuing education programs, conferences, and advanced training and by regular consultation with health care providers.
•Receive weekly individual and/or group clinical supervision.
•Access Protected Health Information on a routine basis. Employee must comply with all privacy standards of the Lourie Center that include HIPAA, COMAR and others - state and federal regulations as written in the Privacy Manual.
•Perform other duties as assigned by Clinical Director and privileged by COMAR, including supervision of social work interns.

Qualifications Include:
•Graduation at the Master's level from an accredited school of Social Work or a related field
•Maryland Licensure at the graduate level or an equivalent
•Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required
•Expertise in theoretical approaches and diagnostic and treatment procedures used in providing mental health services to infants, young children, and their families
•Training and supervised experience with a wide variety of treatment modalities required
•Supervised experience providing psychotherapeutic services to children under six years of age and their families
•Must be able to collaborate on an interdisciplinary team in determining a diagnostic understanding and appropriate treatment plan
•Must have skills in oral and written presentation of diagnostic findings, progress updates and treatment plans
•Excellent time management skills
•The ability to identify parent concerns and address their needs in the therapeutic process is essential
•Must keep abreast of advances in the field and regularly share new information with colleagues
•Knowledge of psychological disorders from infancy through adulthood is essential
