Overview

AARP Services, Inc., founded in 1999, is a wholly-owned taxable subsidiary of AARP. AARP Services manages the provider relationships for and performs quality control oversight of the wide range of products and services that carry the AARP name and are made available by independent providers as benefits to AARP's millions of members. The provider offers currently span health products, financial products, travel and leisure products, and life event services. Specific products include Medicare supplemental insurance; credit cards, auto and home, mobile home and motorcycle insurance, life insurance and annuities; member discounts on rental cars, cruises, vacation packages and lodging; special offers on technology and gifts; pharmacy services and legal services. AARP Services also engages in new product development activities for AARP and provides certain consulting services to outside companies.

Reporting to AARP Services Inc, (ASI) Director of Financial Marketing, this analyst assists in fulfilling ASI's commitments to marketing oversight, brand stewardship, and enhancing the member experience with AARP / ASI's commercial Provider programs in the financial portfolio line of business.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in fulfilling commitment to marketing oversight and brand stewardship for provider programs.
  • Assist in ensuring a consistent and quality member experience with provider programs.
  • Assist with planning, creation and execution of various strategic communications initiatives that support the enterprise and / or line of business, including social media content and member benefit communications.
  • Provides reporting and presentation support, and assists on special projects.
  • Demonstrates professional cultural attributes and behaviors in all internal and external interactions.

Qualifications

  • Completion of Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience in marketing, communications or combination of relationship management and marketing.
  • Industry knowledge of insurance, real estate and/or financial products preferred.
  • Experience in partner/affinity marketing and/or oversight of external marketing relationships preferred.
  • Requires strong relationship management and project management skills, and the ability to manage and influence relationships across multiple external vendors and business partners.
  • Strong direct-to-consumer marketing experience, especially in direct response channels; Direct mail, DRTV, email, online, social media.
  • Excellent written, verbal, visual/presentation, and interpersonal communication skills a must.
  • Ability to travel to provider meetings/events (10 to 15%).
  • In office/open office environment with the ability to work effectively surrounded by moderate noise.

Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA)

AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as telecommuting workdays, except for essential functions.
Remote work and telecommuting can only be done within the United States and its territories.
