Job Announcement
Works under general supervision in the DIT Voice Communications Branch of the Department of Information Technology (DIT), primarily responsible for system design and configuration of the enterprise-wide telecommunications platform, IP and Unified Communications messaging systems (voice mail) and ancillary systems integration. Provides software support for voice systems features and circuit translations including administration of trunk groups, ARS Routing Table management, feature access codes, dial plan, class of service, RTU administration, and network connectivity. Responsible for reviewing architecture, engineering and coordination of installation and integration of enterprise Unified Communication systems with Microsoft Teams and other SIP/IP based enterprise telephony platforms throughout the county. Assist DIT teams in reviewing and recommending design, engineering, and procurement activities for voice communications systems, including SIP/IP and voice/data convergence. Works with Voice Services team in providing enhance knowledge of IP based telephony systems and IP Communication Manager and MS voice applications. Collaborates with teams across other technology areas in DIT including Network, Platform Technology, Radio, CRM and IVR teams and IT Security to ensure successful integration of technologies. Works with project managers supporting IT projects for other enterprise-wide applications or county agencies' business applications that require voice integration. Programs features supporting MACS; performs routine system administration, and troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve voice platform issues within the enterprise voice infrastructure. Conducts research, field trials, and provides evaluations, recommendation and standards for county voice communications infrastructure including cloud solutions. Works and keeps abreast of new industry developments in related technologies, or enhancing performance and addressing program needs, knowledge and networking capabilities. Responds to emergency incidents and manages the restoration of critical communications systems and services and participates in county emergency activations for technical support requirements. Participates in an on-call rotational schedule for after-hours repair services. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following:

Possession of an associate's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, electronics, or a related field; plus four years' network and/or telecommunications experience; or a bachelor's degree in such fields; plus two years' experience in network or telecommunications system design, analysis, installation, and troubleshooting.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check to the satisfaction of the employer.

- Knowledge of PBX functionalities and Voice/Telephony components
- General understanding of call routing, trunking, and dial plans.
- General knowledge of creating and modifying VDN and Vectors.
- 2 years of knowledge of Contact Center functionality and procedures.
- Basic understanding of IVR and call recording applications.
- Knowledge of converged technology protocols.
- General knowledge of managing small to mid-level projects
- Basic understanding of H.323, VoIP and SIP protocols.
