Talent Acquisition and Human Resources CoordinatorThe George Mason University Libraries' Administration Office invites applications for the position of Talent Acquisition and Human Resources Coordinator.George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.About the Position:Under the general supervision of the Libraries' Human Resources Officer the Talent Acquisition/HR Coordinator assists with liaison responsibilities to the university's Office of Human Resources & Payroll, and provides Human Resources support to the University Libraries in a variety of complex, on-going activities, special projects, services and outreach initiatives. Coordinates with and supports to the Human Resources Officer, the Assistant Dean for Administration, and the Dean of Libraries and University Librarian across a broad span of personnel and compensation activities encompassing all categories of employees in the University Libraries. Responsibilities:Responsibility for Classified staff searches, hiring and onboarding processes; assisting with Professional and Administrative faculty searches; responsibility for Wages employee hiring (student and non-student); performing employee separation/termination processes; and assisting with related personnel activities of the Libraries organization.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Applicants should bring the following knowledge, skills, and abilities to this position:Working knowledge of State and University human resource policies/procedures for recruiting, hiring and compensation;Advanced computer skills in Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, Office 365, Internet and e-mail;Demonstrated communication skills, both written and oral;Demonstrated project management experience;Experience with applicant tracking systems PeopleSoft, Handshake, PeopleAdmin;Experience with HRIS employee management systems;Demonstrated organizational and leadership skills, including ability to manage and train employees;Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities, meet deadlines, and exercise good judgment;Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with job applicants, administrative and professional faculty, Classified staff, graduate and undergraduate students, and other members of the University Community;Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills; andAbility to work both independently and as part of a team and understand own work and its impact on the work of the University Libraries as a university unit.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree, or significant equivalent Human Resources experience; andSome (generally 2+ years) minimum experience in a people oriented position.Preferred Qualifications:Experience interacting in an academic environment with a diverse clientele; andExperience in administrative support to include Human Resources and Compensation experience.The George Mason University library system, comprised of a large central library and three other distinctive libraries, is located on three campuses in the Northern Virginia-metropolitan Washington, D.C., region.
