Appian is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join the Product Strategy team. The Product Strategy team is responsible for ideation, incubation and commercialization of new products. This is a fast-paced, high-visibility role. You will help shape investments in product releases that are 12-18 months out to help us stay differentiated, be first movers and drive incremental revenue.

The ideal candidate would have an undergraduate degree in computer science or other related technical field with at least two years of software engineering experience. Experience with Java, JavaScript, and web technologies is preferred. Experience with Appian Platform and emerging technologies like AI, IoT, and others is a plus.

To be successful in this role, you need:
  • Research: Understand the market forces and emerging technologies and identify opportunities to expand Appian's platform capabilities.
  • Ideation: Consistently and effectively be a feeder to product development pipeline with innovative new product features.
  • Prototyping: Prioritize, build and test product prototypes.
  • Handoff for Commercialization: Collaborate with product managers to incorporate into mainstream development cycle. Work with Sales and Marketing to support go-to-market activities for launch.
  • Acquisition and Partnership Evaluation: Pursue inorganic approaches to delivering capabilities where appropriate.
