The Startup Programming Manager is responsible for leading the planning and management of AARP Innovation Lab events. Events include, but are not limited to, pitch events, demo days and conference engagements. This position is also responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Hatchery, ARP's creative and innovative thinking space.

The Startup Programming Manager is responsible for leading the planning and management of AARP Innovation Lab events. This position is also responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Hatchery, ARP's creative and innovative thinking space.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support the planning and execution of all Innovation Labs events like Demo Days, Grand Pitch Finale and conference engagements - which includes sourcing, staffing and managing conference and innovation ecosystem initiatives for both internal and startup engagement opportunities.
- Lead the management of multiple AARP Innovation Labs pitch events throughout the year - managing core components and full activations of the AARP Innovation Labs pitch events and annual pitch Productions.
- Assist in representing the innovation team through webinars and opening/closing engagement remarks.
- Maintain day-to-day operations of the Hatchery, including creating and scheduling reports on maintenance, repairs, security, and other occurrences.
- Manage social media channels and engagement while executing on social media strategy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 5+ years of event planning experience.
- 2+ years of account management experience in the field of entrepreneurship, technology, PR, or advertising.
- Project management, and vendor management experience required.
- Strong understanding of the startup ecosystem.
- Exceptional interpersonal, written and oral communication, and customer relationship-building skills across multiple levels of management.
- Goal-oriented, ambitious, self-starter, detail-oriented and passionate.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- In-office/open office environment with the ability to work effectively surrounded by moderate noise.
