AARP Services, Inc., founded in 1999, is a wholly-owned taxable subsidiary of AARP. AARP Services manages the provider relationships for and performs quality control oversight of the wide range of products and services that carry the AARP name and are made available by independent providers as benefits to AARP's millions of members. The provider offers currently span health products, financial products, travel and leisure products, and life event services. Specific products include Medicare supplemental insurance; credit cards, auto and home, mobile home and motorcycle insurance, life insurance and annuities; member discounts on rental cars, cruises, vacation packages and lodging; special offers on technology and gifts; pharmacy services and legal services. AARP Services also engages in new product development activities for AARP and provides certain consulting services to outside companies.

Are you a research or business student with an excellent eye for detail and strong research and analytical skills? The Customer Experience Center of Excellence team seeks an enthusiastic results-driven intern to assist our Customer Experience research study. This role encompasses a diverse set of consumer research and project management tasks; it will primarily focus on the candidate's experience and skillset. We're looking for candidates that are quick, eager learners and have a background in consumer research and/or business. This paid internship has an anticipated start of June 2022 and will have the option to continue for additional semesters.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with customer experience research, analytics, and reporting
  • Expand your knowledge of research design, methodology, questionnaire development, data collection, analysis, data-driven results, and insights
  • Learn additional CX tools and how to integrate results to strengthen CX insights; sentiment analysis, mystery shopping, UX assessment, and journey mapping
  • Help prepare executive-level presentations while learning important management skills, including project management, meeting management, budgeting, and documentation
  • Participate in team meetings and strategy discussions, collaborate in communications tactics, and engage in a support role for internal and external client meetings to help achieve CX objectives

Qualifications

  • The successful candidate will possess a foundation in research and data analytics, be inquisitive, organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams; interested in learning about customer experience, developing insights, and actionable results
  • Self-motivated, strong initiative, and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional verbal/written communications, project management/documentation skills
  • Good critical and creative thinking/problem-solving skills
  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Familiarity in developing PowerPoint presentations and presenting results
  • Ability to work in an open office environment with moderate noise/distractions

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly range is $18 for undergraduates, $21 for graduate students, $28 for Ph.D. candidates. Internships are non-exempt positions and are not eligible for employee benefits.

Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA)

AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as telecommuting workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work and telecommuting can only be done within the United States and its territories.
