The Foundation Schools is a special education day school which delivers innovative school programs and support services for children and adolescents with emotional disabilities, autism spectrum disorders and other learning challenges. For over 40 years, the combination of academic support and therapeutic services has given our students a chance to reach their full potential. The Foundation Schools has schools in Gaithersburg, Largo and Landover, Maryland that serve over 200 students in grades K-12. We are currently accepting resumes for IT Systems Manager candidates for our program in Largo location. This is a 12 month position.

JOB SUMMARY
The IT Systems Manager is responsible for the Student Information System (SIS) and data compliance. This position is responsible for supporting data development, data tracking, compliance auditing and conducting company needs analysis in coordination with school leadership. The IT Systems Manager will support the integration of the SIS with other organization systems.
FLSA STATUS: Exempt employee
SUPERVISION: IT Systems Managers are supervised by the Director of Information Technology
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Manage the student information systems (SIS) and all the educational systems adopted by the organization
Ensure that student and staff data are consistent across the systems
Create and maintain student data reports integrating data across multiple systems
Train internal stakeholders to ensure critical knowledge of systems management and report creation throughout the organization
Contribute to the development and management of operations data systems
Lead the evaluation and adoption of a comprehensive data collection and reporting platform that integrates data from other departments
Work with the Development Department to produce reports to support the department’s initiatives
Collaborate with colleagues and program teams to determine opportunities for improvement in data collection and usage. Research issues and develop recommendations and implement plans to execute resolutions
Develop and maintain systems and processes to ensure that students’ onboarding and offboarding processes are performed in compliance with company policies
Ensure all school information systems and databases are following HIPPA and FERPA regulations
Utilize data systems to manage reporting of federal and state compliance data within deadlines
Work with management to make changes and ensure accuracy of reporting to stakeholders
Serve as the backup to the IT Specialist to assist staff with software platforms and manage student and staff accounts
Maintain student confidentiality in accordance with The Foundation Schools Confidentiality and Conflict of Interest Statement and student record confidentiality procedures
Demonstrate knowledge of special education laws and regulations regarding confidential student information and ensure information is shared only when appropriate and in accordance with company policies and procedures, as well as with all federal, state, and local laws
Actively participate in committees, meetings, supervision, and professional development activities
Consistently model and implement the company’s core values to drive actions and to guide our students to incorporate Teamwork, Work Ethic, Integrity, Respect, and Leadership into positive behaviors while at work
Comply with all of The Foundation Schools’ policies, rules, protocols, and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Experience and Certification

Bachelor’s degree in a related field, IT certification or related course work is preferred
Minimum of three years of related experience in data tracking, data management, analysis and reporting
Previous experience in database administration
Skill managing large data sets and exposure to data analytics software
Experience creating reports for dissemination and analysis
Experience in operationalizing the process of creating and accessing important data
