Principal Associate, HR4HR Project /Portfolio Management & Strategic Delivery

The HR4HR team is deeply focused on elevating the HR associate experience, through creating infrastructure for every associate to be great in their role and love their job. You will be pivotal in shaping and iterating how our HR4HR experiences and talent strategies gain traction and integrate across HR, while ensuring our team's work is enabled by well-managed, optimized, organized, connected, and integrated ways of working. You will partner across the team and with key HR partners from strategic planning to execution to streamline and find efficiencies, build and iterate on roadmaps, and ultimately manage our HR4HR portfolio of work. You will prioritize work, connect dots, enable effective change management, and help us take ideas into transformational strategies and repeatable, dependable processes, with an eye toward focus driven by data, and best practice development.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and enhance HR4HR routines and practices to enable each to best advance work on our strategic objectives
  • Manage and own team routines, cadences, tools, best-practice and process capture mechanisms (including a team google site), and own documentation and tracking against prioritized work leveraging Agile principles
  • Stand up an 'Agile-light' ecosystem for the team - establishing and maintaining routines, planning, tracking, and be an accountability holder
  • Own, project manage and/or deliver ad-hoc HR-wide initiatives and projects
  • With deep collaboration across the team and with partners, assist in building team roadmap, broader team prioritization efforts, and team vision
  • Where needed, lean into select chief of staff work for Head of HR, HR & Risk
  • Manage delivery for key HR cycles (talent management, compensation, performance management), partnering closely with our Horizontal HR HRC
  • Define success and measurement against strategic objectives
  • Monitor, iterate, and drive enhancements to HR4HR solutions according to data
  • Serve as a team data champion - delivering for key health metrics / MBR
  • Leverage a consulting toolkit daily (storytelling, data analysis, structuring problem statements and problem solving, effective communication / stakeholder management, building alignment)
  • Generate excitement about and lead through the changes that will come with innovating within and advancing our HR priorities
  • Collaborate with internal partners. Develop and nurture relationships with key internal stakeholders across HR lines of business, and Enterprise HR teams
  • Engage in team problem solving across challenges, gaps, and other constraints


Skills and capabilities:
  • Proficient operating in agile methodology
  • Intellectually curious, open-minded, and creative when driving solutions
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills (e.g., strategically and creatively solve problems, establish frameworks, assess opportunities using data)
  • Very organized, effectively synthesize information and boiling it down to what is critical and appropriate for various stakeholders
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple initiatives effectively and simultaneously
  • Be proficient at telling a compelling story for associate solutions to gain acceptance and usage
  • Strong collaboration, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to thoughtfully weigh risks and implications, see around corners, anticipate concerns and proactively address all
  • Highly motivated, proactive, flexible, and results-oriented
  • Motivated to respond to evolving business needs and new insights, shifting roadmaps and tactics throughout the year as needed
  • Strong storytelling, verbal, and written communication skills (e.g., active listening, comfort presenting to leaders, crafting stories and decks, tailoring messages to multiple audiences)
  • High integrity to deal with a confidential and sensitive topics


Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Military experience or 5 years of Capital One experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in Agile, project management, process management, or customer experience management


Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 2 year of experience in Human Resources
  • At least 3 years of project management experience
  • Experience interpreting metrics, trends, and data, with a passion for data
