Westat has an opening for a Senior Study Director to join the nutrition team in our social policy and economics practice area. This position requires a strong background in the federal food and nutrition programs with expertise in dietary recall methods.

This is a full time position with flexibility for remote and hybrid work arrangements.

Job Responsibilities:

• Direct and/or manage, as well as collaborate on, the design, implementation, analysis and writing/reporting of both large and small-scale studies
• Lead planning, data collection, and analysis of dietary data
• Manage client relations and communications
• Develop and monitor project budgets
• Ability to work independently with little supervision

Basic Qualifications:

• Master's in Nutrition or a related discipline and a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience
• Registered Dietitian
• Demonstrated knowledge of multiple child nutrition and special nutrition programs, such as school meals, CACFP, and WIC
• Experience with dietary intake data collection methods
• Experience with nutrient analysis for dietary intake and menus
• Demonstrated experience as project task lead and/or project director

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with USDA dietary intake software, particularly SurveyNet
• Outstanding writing skills with substantial track record of publications and presentations with a focus on the areas of food and nutrition
• Proven ability to contribute to technical writing and budgeting for proposals directed toward federal contracts

• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a team environment and handle multiple tasks
