Debit Operations Manager

The Debit Card Operations Team within our Bank Operations is responsible for ensuring smooth Debit Transaction exception processing and and other key functions within Debit Operations. The Debit Card Operations Manager will be responsible for leading a team of 16 associates across two sites (Richmond, VA and Wilmington, DE).

The ideal candidate would possess a solid background in process management and the capability to drive innovation and process improvements within own team and within the broader Bank Operations Team. In addition, this individual must be able to effectively communicate and influence partners across the company and across multiple levels of the organization. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and running a well managed operation are essential to succeeding in this role. This individual must display strong leadership skills and be able to drive and motivate a team in delivering flawless execution. They should be able to demonstrate a proven ability to attract, retain and develop top talent.

General Responsibilities:

  • Creating and validating processes
  • Ensuring all Regulations and Controls in Debit Operations are adhered to
  • Focus on Well Managed
  • Drive the team to meet all process KPI's measurements
  • Meet Daily and Month Reporting requirements
  • Support peers with SME support and resources to ensure the overall success of Debit Operations as a group
  • Partner with internal (including Risk) and external organizations to deliver against the overall Debit Operations strategy
  • Lead incident management interactions for their area with Product and Production support teams
  • Design and produce metrics used to measure efficiency and effectiveness
  • Drive process improvements aligned with desired customer outcomes
  • Analyze, identify, and correct data issues with systems and reports
  • Provide subject matter expertise on processes when representing the department in projects and other meetings
  • Manage and lead a high performing team of Non-Exempt and Exempt Associates

Work at Home Technology Requirements:
  • A secure home office environment that is free from background noise and distractions
  • A reliable private internet connection that is not supplied by use cellular data (hot spot)
    • Cable or fiber connections are preferred
    • Internet service download speeds must be at least 5 mbps, with 10+ mbps preferred - check your download speed using a speed test. A sample one can be found here . To test your home internet from your personal computer at home, type into the web browser of your personal computer.
    • Sustained ability to maintain latency less than 250 ms in voice calls is required
  • Hard wired connectivity is preferred, any use of wireless connectivity must be Private (non-public) and password protected through WPA2-PSK (AES) encryption. If you have any questions about your encryption, please consult with your internet provider
    • A private network is password protected where you have ownership or line of sight to every device on the network
  • Capital One reserves the right to request proof of internet provider, speed and service package from the associate
  • Requirements are subject to change, as new systems and technology are delivered. Capital One reserves the right to modify internet service requirements with sixty (60) days notice.

Candidates must live within a 100 miles driving distance of one of the hub locations based in Richmond VA or Wilmington DE.

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience in People management
  • At least 2 years of experience in Process management
  • At least 2 years of experience in Project management
  • At least 2 years of experience in Relationship management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Lean certification or Six Sigma certification
  • 2+ years of experience in Process management
  • 2+ years of experience in Project management
  • 2+ years of experience in People management
  • 2+ years of experience in Relationship management
