Let your imagination take flight supporting the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD). MIL currently holds several multi-year contracts with NAWCAD in the areas of Cyber, C5ISR, and Information Technology systems.

Summary

The MIL Corporation is seeking Information Systems & Cyber Security, Associate, who will serve as a Senior Information System Security Engineer/Officer (ISSE/ISSO) to provide support to Red Team activities for our US Navy customer. The Red Team members, with experience as an ISSE or ISSO will support local cybersecurity teams, CONUS and OCONUS, as the local cybersecurity teams work towards obtaining their Authorizations to Operate (ATOs). The team will be based in Norfolk, VA. This position may be eligible for remote work depending on contract/client and hiring manager approval.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical and administrative support to local CONUS and OCONUS Commander, Naval Installation Command (CNIC) cybersecurity teams
  • Provide additional expertise with mitigation and deviation measures to lower risk levels
  • Support customer's local cybersecurity team with security controls and enhancements, in all 18 Risk Management Framework (RMF) families, assistance resulting in an improved A&A network package acceptable to the NAO
  • Train local Program Managers and cybersecurity team with the US Navy RMF process.
  • Perform programmatic reporting on periodic status and status briefings as necessary.

Required Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience in:
    • Understanding and applying RMF procedures as defined in the US Navy RMF Process Guide,
    • Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) cybersecurity tools to include but not limited to STIGs, eMASS and Approved Product List
    • Common Criteria for Information Technology Security Evaluation (CC) and National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) evaluation and approved products list
    • Expertise in reading and explaining ACAS, SCAP and HBSS scan results
    • Conduct self-assessments for the discovery of omissions and lapses within a systems eMASS package,
    • Making suggestions to correct A&A shortcomings,
    • Present new or different analysis that leads to improved risk management level that would be acceptable to the NAO,
  • 7 years of Department of Defense cybersecurity experience at the enterprise, data center or network level
  • Security + certification
  • Solid working knowledge of system security engineering and system security architecture principles,
  • Knowledge of approved DoD and US Navy ports, protocols and services,
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Support CONUS and OCONUS travel as required (up to 75%)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work with and train others at various cybersecurity knowledge levels
  • Per Federal guidelines you may be required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or willingness to obtain vaccination

Education

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college. Six (6) years of work experience related to the position or an Associate's Degree plus four (4) years of additional work experience related to the position may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.

Clearance

All applicants for this position must possess a current Secret Clearance (SSBI); please note that the clearance process takes into account financial background aspects.

All personnel performing on this SOW/PWS will be U.S. citizens.

Sponsor requires all personnel working on a Federally-controlled facility to have, at a minimum, an initiated National Agency Check with Written Inquiries (NACI) or NACI equivalent and favorable completion of a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) fingerprint check.
