Recruitment Outreach SpecialistThe George Mason University College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) Office of Admissions invites applicants for a Recruitment Outreach Specialist position. George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.About the Department:The CEHD Office of Admissions (OOA) exists to generate awareness and interest in academic offerings at the College and provide a superior service experience to prospective students, resulting in improved enrollment outcomes. In addition, the office provides marketing and recruitment support services and systems to programs and divisions to ensure alignment with best practice and integration with broader recruitment and marketing efforts to optimize their effectiveness. To accomplish this, the CEHD OOA is organized into four functional areas-admissions operations, pre-education advising, enrollment marketing, and student recruitment.Responsibilities:Relationship development with prospective students through in-person and virtual engagement is the foundation of the recruitment strategy for the College. As such, recruitment outreach is a critically important role at the College with responsibility for a variety of tasks and functions related to new student recruitment.Reporting to the College's Chief Marketing and Recruitment Officer, plan and execute annual recruitment outreach efforts, including (1) attendance at local, regional, state, and national virtual recruitment events (e.g., "Virginia swing," Idealist, school district career days, etc.); (2) oversight of student ambassador campus recruitment program; (3) primary responsibility for school and/or classroom visits at community colleges and high-schools; and (4) contribute to new and innovative recruitment outreach programs to strengthen enrollment at the College;In collaboration with the Director of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, execute the recruitment outreach elements of the diversity recruitment plan and serve as a representative for CEHD OOA on all diversity recruitment initiatives;Execute a limited number of admissions consultations, especially during non-peak times of the recruitment cycle;Participate in, along with the rest of the CEHD OOA team, assigned program, school, college, and/or university-level virtual and in-person recruitment events throughout the year; andMaintain awareness of new courses, programs, services, and policies within the college and, more broadly, within the university to optimize effectiveness as a student recruiter.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education nd experience;Experience in developing, managing, and executing student recruitment outreach, or similar experience recruiting other types of populations;Experience using Salesforce (TargetX) or other customer relationship management platforms designed to support student recruitment;Demonstrated customer service skills;Demonstrated verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills; andRequires some evening (including one assigned night per week) and weekend work (not to exceed a 40-hour/week commitment overall).Preferred Qualifications:Familiarity with the professions represented within the portfolio of certificate and degree programs offered within the College's three Schools: the School of Education, the School of Kinesiology, and the School of Sport, Recreation, and Tourism Management
