The position performs all functions of accounts payable to include processing of incoming vouchers, processing of checks and wires, organization of electronic files, supervising the Foundation's credit card system, and communication with Schools and Units. This position also serves as a complete backup for the other A/P analyst positions, on a regular basis.Responsibilities:Review, analyze, evaluate, and approve a high volume of vouchers and payments while ensuring compliance with GMUF policies and procedures;Ensure that proper approvals and documentation are received for all voucher types including vendor payments, travel reimbursements, other reimbursements, and scholarships;Maintain accurate and organized vendor records, including current IRS Form W-9;Maintain check registers after processed check batches are processed and posted in the accounting system;Process returned checks, adjustments, corrections and voids in a timely manner;Assist with annual audit as needed;Supervise the Foundation's Bank of America Works credit card system and serve as account administrator;Train new users and address cardholder questions as needed;Perform accounting review of coding and descriptions submitted by users and resolve discrepancies and ensure adequate support is provided;Perform bi-monthly credit card upload and monthly reconciliation of the liability account;Update and maintain all contract files;Organization of AP email and AP electronic files; andAssist in routine technology matters for the AP team.Required Qualifications:General accounting knowledge and experience;Demonstrated oral and written communication abilities;Requires a high level of communication skills to analyze or resolve issues;The individual must be organized and able to manage overlapping tasks;Knowledge of financial reconciliation and familiarity with accounts payable is beneficial;Ability to develop a clear understanding of Foundation and University policies;Ability to exercise considerable discretion and judgment in making recommendations related to the allocation of funds, payment rates, expenditures or investments;Ability to train others; andAbility to clearly interpret, evaluate, and communicate policy and procedure information is essential.Preferred Qualifications:1-3 years of demonstrated general accounting and administrative experience, preferred; andKnowledge of Abila MIP or Ellucian Advance, preferred.
