Job Summary:
Westat is seeking a senior statistical programmer with demonstrated knowledge and experience in working with large survey data.

This position is based at our office in Rockville, Maryland with a flexible hybrid work schedule.

Job Responsibilities:
•    Performing SAS programming as part of a team of statistical programmers working in close collaboration with survey statisticians.
•    Participate in, and help oversee, the development, programming, testing and implementation of complex SAS applications in support of a large national study.
•    Import and transform data in a variety of formats and sources.
•    Create structured tables and reports for dissemination. 

Basic Qualifications:
•    A Master's degree, preferably in statistics or related field.
•    A minimum of 10 years of experience with base SAS and SAS/Stat with Advanced Certification. 
•    Proficient in SQL programming and experience with relational databases.
•    US Citizenship required by contract. 

Preferred Qualifications: 
•    Familiarity with R desired.
•    Highly proficient with Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems. Shell/Python/Perl scripting is desirable. 

Minimum Qualifications: 
•    Strong experience with quantitative research methods, including sampling and weighting survey data. 
•    Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
