The Opinions section seeks an experienced editor to join our op-ed team, focusing on the department's Voices Across America initiative, which is dedicated to presenting a broad range of on-the-ground viewpoints and local angles on issues that resonate with readers.

This editor will be responsible for identifying potential op-ed topics in states across the nation, with focus on places, stories and points of view that are often not reflected in the national media. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for opinion journalism, a keen eye for local stories that sound larger themes, and extensive contacts in and deep knowledge of the right-of-center landscape.

We are seeking someone with sterling editing skills, including the ability to respond quickly to news events, find talented writers, build relationships with columnists and identify valuable outside submissions. The candidate should have a highly entrepreneurial attitude toward opinion journalism, including creative thinking about the best formats in which to present arguments to readers. The position requires some on-call weekends on a rotating basis.
