As Market Research Analyst for The Washington Post, you will conduct primary research and provide insights to help business units throughout the organization understand our audience and make smart business decisions. Working closely with our world-class Advertising, Marketing and Product departments, and our award-winning Newsroom, you'll help pave the way for bigger and bolder successes in the future.

  • Conduct custom primary research projects for Washington Post clients throughout the organization. Research insights are used to assist executives in making informed decisions about Washington Post branding and consumer marketing, changes to existing products, and new product launches
  • Manage all phases of the research process, from study design to fielding and reporting by:
    • Developing and programming survey questionnaires
    • Managing relationships with third party sample providers
    • Fielding surveys using Qualtrics survey software
    • Analyzing survey data and creating customized presentations of research results in PowerPoint
  • Coordinate logistics and create moderator guides for qualitative research projects
  • Manage advertising creative testing and effectiveness studies for Washington Post print and digital advertising clients by:
    • Working with third party research vendors to measure the impact of Post advertising on brand awareness, perceptions and intent to use.
    • Designing and executing custom research studies to help advertising clients make informed decisions on ad creative, design, and placement strategy.

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2+ years of experience in primary market research and/or data analysis (experience working in media industry desired)
  • Extensive experience with Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Experience with Qualtrics or other online survey tool, and SPSS or other statistical software is preferred
  • Experience with Tableau is desired
