Social Media & Communications AssociateThe George Mason University, The Carter School is looking for an enthusiastic, flexible, detail oriented professional to support our Social Media Operations. The position is based at Mason's Arlington campus and can be done predominately remotely. Expected pay is $14/hour for 20 hours per week, with a possibility of additional hours during peak periods.George Mason University has a strong institutional commitment to the achievement of excellence and diversity among its faculty and staff, and strongly encourages candidates to apply who will enrich Mason's academic and culturally inclusive environment.Responsibilities:This position is responsible for:Creating social media posts on multiple platforms;Scheduling and posting approved content;Contributing to the Schools' social media strategy.Required Qualifications:Understand major platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn, to include copywriting, posting, monitoring activity, livestreaming and events;Demonstrated focus on recruitment marketing;Must be organized, detail-oriented, and capable of meeting deadlines without daily supervision;Ability to manage and schedule requests, write, copy, and design accompanying graphics.Preferred Qualifications:Graphic design experience strongly preferred; experience with Canva or LucidPress a plus;Experience with Airtable and Hootsuite a plus.When submitting your application, please note in your cover letter the days and hours you are available to work.
