Adventist Healthcare seeks to hire an experienced Reimbursement Analyst for our Leadership and Organizational Development Department who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

As a Staff Reimbursement Analyst you will:

• Be assigned one or more business units, and will be responsible for providing all aspects of Reimbursement support to those entities as they relate to the financial statement close and month-end submission to the HSCRC.
• Work with the Reimbursement & CDM Manager to accumulate information related to the daily charges generated by the AHC entities which are governed by a GBR agreement with the HSCRC.
• Assist the department in responding to customer inquiries and requests for information in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of Hospital operations and applicable reimbursement regulations.
• Learn how to leverage various systems at our disposal (Work Day, Cerner, BI Data Warehouse, etc.) that will feed into other analytics performed by department staff.
• Calculate earned revenue and, in the process, complete financial statement close schedules for assigned entities.
• Actively participate in financial statement close meetings and take primary ownership of any follow-up items.
• Work closely with senior reimbursement analysts to prepare and submit required deliverables to the HSCRC and CMS at required intervals (monthly, quarterly, and annual requirements).
• Demonstrate knowledge of our various systems (Work Day, Data Warehouse, Cerner, etc.) to assist the team in accumulating financial information that support department operations.
• Respond to customer inquiries and requests for information with timely and insightful knowledge of operations and reimbursement-related activities.
• Take primary ownership of the development and delivery of the monthly Forensic Billing Process with the State of Maryland.
• Other Duties as Assigned

Qualifications Include:

• General understanding of the role and function of the HSCRC and Maryland Healthcare Finance Environment
• Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Access
• Ability to manipulate and analyze large data files/extracts
• Understanding basic cost accounting and general accounting principles
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Exhibits professional skepticism and a healthy attention to detail
• Exhibits professional maturity that enables employee to accept constructive criticism, work under tight deadlines, constructively contribute to team meetings and efficiently/effectively respond to customer inquiries and data needs.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or relevant healthcare-related field.
• 1-3 years in healthcare-related field. Exposure to functions of the Finance department considered a plus.
• CPA or CHFP considered a "plus".
