Shady Grove Medical Center is hiring a Per Diem Electroneurodiagnostic Technician (EEG Tech) for our Respiratory Therapy Department in Rockville, Maryland.

We're seeking an experienced EEG Tech who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

As an EEG Tech you will:
• Perform EEG studies by using the proper electrode placement and technique as specified by the American EEG Society.
• Review procedure with patients giving all the required instructions as contained in the departmental policy and procedure manual to facilitate testing.
• Consult with physician and perform photic stimulation, hyperventilation, eye opening and closing, auditory and somatosensory stimuli.
• Demonstrate the ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs; having knowledge of normal growth and development, and having an understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patient population served in the department as identified in the job description.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance.

Qualifications include:
•High school diploma or GED
•EEG certification
•Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Active American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or to be obtained within one year of employment
•Basic PC skills such as Windows NT, and computerized EEG equipment

Work Schedule:

Be able to take on-call 2 weekends per month from 8a-5p and holidays as necessary. At times may be needed to cover sick call outs during the week
