Postdoctoral Fellow - Department of Health Administration and PolicyThe George Mason University Department of Health Administration and Policy is seeking applicants for a 2-year postdoctoral fellow position. The fellow will carry out research studies led by Dr. Jeah Jung through a project funded by the National Institute of Health (NIH). This NIH project examines resource use and quality of care in Medicare Advantage relative to Traditional Medicare, focusing on costly and serious conditions, such as cancer, autoimmune diseases, or acute cardiac conditions. The fellow will involve in research and scholarly development related to health care financing and delivery in Medicare, in particular identifying ways by which Medicare Advantage plans modify care delivery. The fellow will engage in all stages of research, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. The department boasts more than 700 students in undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degree programs. The total anticipated value of the department's active research grants and contracts exceed $400M across a variety of disciplines, including health economics, informatics, policy, and practice.Responsibilities:Participate in research discussions with an interdisciplinary team;Work effectively with large administrative data;Perform econometric and statistical analyses;Clearly communicate processes used and results achieved; lead critical discussions; andDraft articles, reports and presentations.Required Qualifications:Doctoral degree (at start date) in health services research, health policy, economics, public policy, public health, or related disciplines; andStrong skills in statistical analysis and coding (e.g., SAS and Stata).
