Job Summary:
Westat is seeking research associates to work closely with a multidisciplinary research team to work on a research project about drug use and health.  The position is contingent on award of a pending seven-year contract. In this role, you would be expected to learn the operational protocol, data collection instruments, and training requirements. 

The position is based in Rockville, Maryland with a hybrid work schedule.

Job Responsibilities:
•    Supporting onsite and remote members of an interdisciplinary team engaged in multimode survey data collection.
•    Developing project materials and documents. 
•    Work with IT and project staff on survey instrument and system requirements.
•    Testing survey instruments and project systems. 
•    Monitoring the productivity and quality of the data collection effort, including defining requirements for graphical and tabular monitoring reports. 
•    Writing training materials, and data collection manuals for delivery in-person and remotely (both synchronously and asynchronously)
•    Other relevant job duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:
•    A bachelor's degree, preferably in the social sciences, public health or a related field with 6 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree, preferably in the social sciences, public health or a related field with 2-3 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
•    Prior experience with survey data collection methods. 
•    Experience with R, SAS or other statistical computing programming languages.

Minimum Qualifications:
•    Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe). 
•    Ability to exercise independent judgement, work independently and collaboratively in teams, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. 
•    Attention to detail, aptitude for working with computer systems, strong interest in social research, working well in a fast-paced environment are essential.
•    A background in instructional design, questionnaire design, or experience working on design of complex, large-scale survey research projects.  
•    Occasional travel is required.
