The Audience Strategy Manager serves as a strategic advisor to the Vice President, Audience Strategy, Age Inclusion. The Audience Strategy Manager assists in the development, execution, and evaluation of the enterprise's Age Inclusion activities to help achieve organizational goals. This position works to execute a robust strategy and leads elements of the departmental strategic planning process.

Responsibilities

  • As a key member of the Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) team, this role will be responsible for supporting both departmental projects as well as the enterprise-wide age discrimination strategic initiatives.
  • Key responsibilities include supporting the execution of the Age Discrimination Strategic Initiative, including the Disrupt Aging Classroom Pilot and the Age Inclusion in the Workplace learning tools.
  • Ensure achieving annual tactical and longer-term strategic goals, as well as ensure clear alignment with key AARP goals - such as strengthening recruitment and retention of volunteers and members from diverse communities.
  • Facilitate smooth execution of ODEI content strategy, other projects as assigned. Fosters key strategic alliances throughout the enterprise, ensuring collaboration and shared goals orientation.
  • Provide research-supported activations to deepen engagement, which may include events, digital content, and third-party partnerships.
  • Actively engages in the development of increasingly efficient, effective messaging strategies as to promote AARP's work in diverse, inclusive communities with both internal and external audiences. Continuously monitors the public dialogue about issues that may impact AARP.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree and 5+ years of increasing professional responsibility with a demonstrated commitment to DEI principles in action, personal brand, and project execution.
  • Knowledge/ experience in supporting the successful implementation of large-scale DEI strategies and relevant messaging; proven track record of activations.
  • Experience in leading the management of complex institution-wide initiatives and partnerships related to DEI.
  • Must have a strong collaborative work style.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, with the ability to analyze, synthesize, translate data, and formulate actionable insights and strategies.
  • Project management skills with the ability to achieve KPIs.
  • This is an open-space office environment and the ability to work effectively surrounded by moderate noise is required.

Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA)

AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as telecommuting workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work and telecommuting can only be done within the United States and its territories.
