About Us

Whether we are supporting HIV/AIDS clinical trials around the world, providing program monitoring and evaluation services in Africa, collecting epidemiologic data in Europe, coordinating AIDS conferences in the Caribbean and Africa, or analyzing Medicare data in the United States, SSS consistently provides the highest quality support available. We are committed to conducting ourselves ethically, honoring our commitments, acting proactively and responsively, and delivering excellent services on time and at good value.

We have developed long-term relationships with a variety of clients, largely in the public health sector. These clients include the National Institutes of Health, the U.S. Agency for International Development, the Food and Drug Administration, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

SSS was founded by Herbert J. Miller, Denis Ables, and Mary Frances leMat, and the company was a proud participant and graduate of the Small Business Administration's 8(a) program (197988). Today, SSS has approximately 500 staff members, with offices in Silver Spring, MD; Durham, NC; Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire; Kampala, Uganda; and Kigali, Rwanda.

In recognition of our service, SSS has received numerous honors in the recent past. The Corporate Volunteer Council of Montgomery County honored SSS in 2002 for our significant contributions to the quality of life in the County. SSS has received the Silver Spring Excellence Award from the Greater Silver Spring Chamber of Commerce for our community service. Hearts & Homes for Youth honored us as a Champion of the Community in 2004. Also in 2007, for the ninth year in a row, SSS was awarded a Workplace Excellence Seal of Approval from the Maryland Work Life Alliance.
