About International Rhino Foundation
The International Rhino Foundation exists to ensure the survival of the world's five rhino species through conservation and research. At the heart of our work is the belief that these magnificent animals must endure for future generations. The IRF funds and operates rhino conservation and protection programs in Asia and Africa, and also funds targeted research that will benefit wild rhino populations. One of IRF’s greatest strengths is catalyzing partnerships to achieve the mutual aims of like-minded conservation organisations. We work with partners to set aside institutional boundaries and maximize strengths to benefit rhino conservation.
We know that there are no easy, one-size-fits-all solutions to the grave crisis facing rhinos, and that each rhino species faces different challenges. Because of its small size, the IRF can be agile enough to examine and quickly act on encouraging solutions. We deliver state-of-the-art rhino conservation with a commitment to core values of hard work, passion, optimism, and partnership. All IRF programs are scientifically based and reviewed by Executive Director, Dr. Susie Ellis (with more than 30 years in international conservation), Dr. Bibhab Talukdar, IRF’s Asia Program Coordinator and Chairman of the IUCN Asian Rhino Specialist Group, and Mr. Raoul du Toit, IRF's African Rhino Program Coordinator.
IRF manages an annual budget of approximately US $3.2 million annually, with more than 90% of funds raised going directly to support field programs. IRF Administrative functions are based in Fort Worth,TX and the Program and Executive office operates out of the Strasburg/Front Royal, VA area. For more information, visit www.rhinos.org.
