Job Summary:

Westat is seeking an individual to work with states and other jurisdictions in the international IPS Learning Community in the development of infrastructure (e.g., financing, training, monitoring process and outcomes) to implement Individual Placement and Support (IPS), and to guide the process of implementing and sustaining high-fidelity IPS supported employment services through collaboration between mental health and vocational rehabilitation services at sites throughout the United States and other countries.


Job Responsibilities:


· Train state-level IPS trainers from the mental health authority and Vocational Rehabilitation on implementing and monitoring IPS services.

· Provide education, supported employment training, technical assistance and consultation on a statewide basis to mental health program staff on implementing evidence-based supported employment.

· Plan and conduct training workshops and forums on IPS supported employment to Vocational Rehabilitation staff, peers, family members, employers, Social Security personnel, and Department of Labor staff as needed.

· Develop educational materials on IPS.

· Speak at state and national conferences on the research and practice guidelines of IPS supported employment.

· Engage mental health and vocational rehabilitation leaders who are interested in implementing IPS services and participating in the international IPS Learning Community.

· Assist states and other jurisdictions in developing a statewide IPS supported employment implementation plan.

· Review IPS implementation of states/jurisdictions and local sites with the Director of the IPS Learning Community and with his/her guidance addresses problems and barriers.


Basic Qualifications:


· A Bachelor's degree in rehabilitation counseling, counseling, psychology, social work, or related human services area or the equivalent.

· 8 years of relevant experience in mental health services and vocational services or supported employment in a mental health system.

· Supported employment supervisory experience.

· Ability to travel to project sites across the United States is required.


Preferred Qualifications:


· A Master's degree in a related field preferred.

Knowledge of mental illness and mental health rehabilitative services for adults with serious behavioral health conditions is essential. Knowledge of IPS supported employment implementation process and financing mechanisms and organizing and conducting state-wide IPS supported employment initiatives is essential. Candidates must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrated trainer skills, ability to take initiative, work independently, identify and resolve problems, and overcome obstacles.
