 Overview
A Recreation Leader III performs advanced-level work in the provision of a wide variety of leisure time activities to all ages and backgrounds of the community population. Will oversee the daily operation of the after school and summer out of school time program to include planning, implementing and evaluating age appropriate program activities; scheduling appropriate areas and staffing for designated age groups; and ensuring that all materials needed for activities are safe, clean and available when needed. Provides training and direction to staff, volunteers, and summer youth employees.

You must also demonstrate an ability to plan and oversee programs and activities and work effectively in a group setting. You should be able to provide exceptional customer service that exceeds customer's expectations. You should also be available to Monday – Friday from 2:00pm – 6:00pm and available to work occasional weekends as needed.
 
The Opportunity

  • Plan and develop sport and recreation programs (i.e. drama, music, dancing, and arts and crafts) and ensure that a variety of activities and events are made available to the community;
  • Plan and conduct a quality after school recreation program for youth ages 5-14 years;
  • Complete incident/illness, attendance and other report forms and communicate with parents as needed;
  • Participate in staff meetings, in-service trainings/sessions, and workshops;
  • Ensure all safety precautions and guidelines are followed;
  • Work creatively with your colleagues to provide quality customer service and be accountable for your work responsibilities;
  • Demonstrate leadership that is consistent, constructive and positive to community members, co-workers and program participants;
  • Perform related work as required.
