  • The position of Pharmacist falls within the 0660 occupational series. To qualify for this position at grade GS-13, you must meet Time-in-Grade requirements by 11:59 pm EST on 03/04/2019.

    Basic Requirements:
    Successful completion of a doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. Unofficial transcripts will be accepted in the application package; however, official transcripts will be required prior to beginning employment. Failure to submit all transcripts and license will be considered an incomplete application. (You must submit a copy of your transcripts)

    Additional Requirements: Licensure:--All applicants must have passed the North American Pharmacist Licensure Examination (NAPLEX) and the Multi state Pharmacy Jurisprudence Examination (MPJE). Applicants also be licensed to practice pharmacy in a State, ,the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.

    Medical Requirements: Applicants must be able to distinguish basic colors.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    In addition to the licensure and educational requirements described above, a minimum of one year of professional pharmacy experience that is equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.

    Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.

    GS-13: Applicants must have one year of professional pharmacy specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 in the Federal service, to include experience in updating drug labeling, providing information to the public, implementing or revising a risk management program, revising a drug name, labeling, or packing; and on rare occasions.

    In accordance with Office of Personnel Management policy, federal employees are assumed to have gained experience by performing duties and responsibilities appropriate for their official series and grade level as described in their position description. Experience that would not normally be part of the employee's position is creditable, however, when documented by satisfactory evidence, such as a signed memorandum from the employee's supervisor or an SF-50 or SF-52 documenting an official detail or other official assignment. The documentation must indicate whether the duties were performed full time or, if part time, the percentage of times the other duties were performed. It is expected that this documentation is included in the employee's official personnel record. In order to receive credit for experience in your resume that is not within the official series and grade level of your official position, you must provide a copy of the appropriate documentation of such experience as indicated above.
